Emerged more American intrigue,
With plots to destroy commerce.
To result in arrest warrants; one
For A German Cavalry Captain
Baron G. Wilhelm von Brincken.

The Federal issue had emerged
From the Crowley case - accused
In securing funds, for destruction
Of Allied munitions ships - likely
Aleister Crowley, occultist and
A writer for the fatherland paper.

Robert Capelle was also targeted
For arrest; North German Lloyd line
Agent, believed as a witness in
Violations of US neutrality, by
Agents of Germany - a belief was
Capelle took refuge in California.

Likely to be aboard the Ottawa,
A German boat off Sausalito,
Within the San Francisco Bay.
A ploy to avoid his arrest had
Made by Captain von Brincken.

The claim on Friday 3 December
That he was German consulate
Attaché, yet later Washington
Advised the fact would not
Protect, him even if he held post -
Hours later Brincken surrendered.

The Captain was not detained
Though, as he was released
On bail for $10,000 - the case
Was seen to reflect the Buenz
New York case, in German
Acts of supplying their ships.
