Within the second strafe for Ypres,
Battle for ground between two sides,
Shifted between Langemarck
And Steenstraate.
The holding of the ground fell from
Allies, to open exposure of Canadian
Division - with a push of determined
German Force.
The Canadian Division forced back,
In needs to keep contact with right
Of other troops with the losses
Of Canadian 4.7 guns.
Within hours regrouped and ready,
The Canadian Division made renewed
Advance, to recapture their guns
And take prisoners.
Among those numbers captured,
Was the taking of a German Colonel.
While Canadians had casualties
Was a bravery displayed.
