In the then city
of Petrograd,
A young Russian soldier,
Found himself
hospitalised -
His strange
condition proved
Of interest to
medical circles.
In the strategy
of his country,
The young Russian
soldier,
Had been taking
in fighting,
On the Eastern
Prussian front.
At nine o'clock
each morning,
Exactly on the
hour, the man
Fell into a lethargy - the depth
Of which no one could rouse
Him - until the strike of noon.
Without any
knowledge of time
He loses signs of all sensitivity,
Remaining inert -
while pulse
And his
temperature remained
Quite normal for
the three hours.
The Russian
soldier had been
In the
trenches, when this odd
Phenomenon
began to happen -
His comrades had often tried
To rouse him by
bayonet and
Needles - with
their thought
Of habit as being shamming.
