Poem ~ Soldier Falls from Cliff - Tuesday, 10 November 1914

At Arbroah on 9 November,
Within the region
Of Dundee, Scotland -
Blew a severe gale,
To cause a great tragedy.

A Territorial soldier,
Lance Corporal Hussey,
Aged 22, from Cardiff -
Was stationed at Forfarshire.
Hussey, involved in creation
Of a shelter, to use
Corrugated iron sheeting.

Atop an open space of cliffs,
Within the strong winds,
Lance Corporal Hussey,
Saw one corrugated sheet
Being easily blown about.

As he moved to regain it,
Both he and the sheet,
Were caught by the gale,
To be blown from the cliff.
Falling some 300 feet,
Lance Corporal Hussey,
Fell to his tragic death.
