An official notification
Is made, in the Service
Of his majesty King George,
For the role of the carrier pigeon.
These birds being employed,
With a particular purpose.

Pigeons will convey war details.
Hereby came the request;
The public are asked not
To interfere with pigeons,
In any way on their missions,
And not attempt to shoot them.
All such news would interest,
Any half-witted spy.
